What is Paddleboard Yoga?

Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga or “SUP Yoga” is just what it sounds like, a floating yoga class on stand up paddleboards!

Inhale and exhale with the sounds & rhythms of ocean tides in direct experience with the Bio-Energies of Nature, Pancha Maha Bhuta. The Great Elements of Ayurveda: Either/Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth. Experience the MicroCosm of the MacroCosm, with-in and with-out, You-niverse, Inner-Verse. Can you hear your Unique Seed Sound?

Equilibrium is not a steady state but a constant fluctuation of micro adjustments in conversation with one’s internal and external experience.

Practicing yoga on a floating surface allows you to challenge your strength, balance, and awareness, building muscle memory, stamina, flexibility and stillness of BodyMind Matrix. As the board Ebbs and Flows on the water’s surface, you will unlock your inner vision and awareness in each present moment; learning when to surrender finding “ease” and when it is appropriate to exert “effort”~ finding your own Unique Equilibrium somewhere in the middle. Everyone is welcome, no yoga or stand up paddling experience needed!

Paddleboard Yoga Classes and Workshops include a mix of stand up paddling and a floating Yoga Class.

The Practice Includes:
• Boga Yoga Paddleboard Rental or BYOBoard.
• All Paddleboard Yoga Equipment: PFD (life jacket), paddle, paddle attachment/leash, small coated mushroom anchor for Yoga practice portion.
• On land Grounding
• Intro to Stand Up Paddle Board Instruction
• Free Paddle Time – towards our floating yoga studio (Paddle Instruction offered along the way)
• SUP Moving Meditation (optional)- an invitation to enjoy a Silent and Slow Moving meditation linking breath and stroke (and mantra, if ya like).
• 1 Hour Paddleboard Yoga Class! A Floating Yoga Class on the water! The boards are anchored off the tail of the board during yoga class. Anchoring the board allows for peace of mind & full focus on your Yoga. The class is a Hatha Yoga Class with Vinyassa Aspects and Breathwork.
– A supervised and safe guided meditation and progressive relaxation body scan into a long juicy floating Pool Float Style Shavasana:)
• After Shavasana, Lauren offers a “Paddleboard Yoga Play Time” to Unleash your playful Spirit, let your inner healing inner child run free!
• Paddle back to land where class started. • Paddleboard Yoga Class ends with a brief on land Grounding Yoga & Qigong Goodbye/Wrap-up Exercise.
